• My family of 11 (parents, grandparents, siblings, kids) had a lovely stay over Thanksgiving weekend. The cabins were so well stocked with everything you could possibly need for cooking etc, and Janet was quick to respond to any concerns and questions we had during our stay. The weather was lovely, the cabins were so charming and comfortable, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We would absolutely consider coming back again.

• We had a lovely stay. The cabin is well appointed and beautifully clean. Janet is very friendly and attentive. All in all, we had a very peaceful weekend with some gorgeous swims in the lake

• We had a great stay at Janet's place. Everything was as described in the listing, and the host was great to deal with and flexible. It's great value for the money. The dock and lake are wonderful for an afternoon dip, and little extras like a supplied bag of fire wood is great.

• Beautiful setting to relax and enjoy the surroundings! Our cottage was beautifully renovated but with old cabin charm. The fishing was good for both Lake Trout and Bass.

• Just what a tired mama needed…Once again, we had a terrific family and friends vacation (that includes our fur babies). I was looking for a place to relax and recharge, connect with my family and our friend’s family. We are a go go go family and need a week to just sit, play, and enjoy each other’s company. We are a large bunch with several teenagers and need space and a place that isn’t ‘fussy’. This hit the mark again. Janet was super helpful leading up to our stay and during our stay. Everything you need to know is at your fingertips. If you are looking for a place to wake up, open the door and let the kids play, this is it.

• Best Vacation Spot for Families

  This is an absolutely outstanding spot for a family to all gather for a vacation together. This is our second year where my family of 12 (my three kids and their spouses and my 4 grandchildren) were able to spend a week together. Beautiful property with clean accommodations, spectacular water access, and has everything you could possibly need for pleasure in the water, around the property and in the cabins. Janet and Nelson have thought of everything. This year was extremely special as my daughter was proposed to in her cabin. We had a lovely celebration. This place is now even more special. • The cottages are very clean, well looked after, and exceptionally well equipped; the lake was very quiet with little boat traffic, even on weekends. The swimming was wonderful, and both adults and children enjoyed the water mat! All in all, it was a memorable family holiday, and everyone voted to plan another visit to Alexanne Cottages. Thank you to our excellent hosts, Janet and Nelson. Stayed 7 nights in July 2024.

• We came from Australia and Janet’s cabin was our first ever ‘cabin on the lake’ stay. We loved it so much. My tween and teen loved cooking marshmallows over the fire, canoeing, using the peddle-o and talking to the chipmunks! The cabin was exactly as pictured, very comfortable, and had everything we needed for 3 days. We drove into Algonquin and went on some walks and an early morning canoe trip. Highly recommend Janet’s cabin.

• We felt at home. Great Views of the Lake. Very well maintained property. Extremely quiet. Fishing was perfect, lots of small mouth bass. Kitchen had every thing you needed and more. The Beds were very comfortable. Lots of TV channels if you needed. Very tastefully decorated. Lots of Room for the 4 adults. Will recommend this cottage to our friends and family, however not for the time of year we went. We will reserve for our return trip next year.

• Our family absolutely loved our stay at Janet and Nelson's cabin and did not want to leave. We received a warm and friendly welcome from Janet and felt right at home. The cabin is beautifully decorated, very clean, and has everything you could possibly need. The lake is pristine, has a weed free sandy bottom, and has a canoe and peddle boat to enjoy. Janet and Nelson have truly done an excellent job at making this property a relaxing home away from home. I highly recommend staying here!

• We had a great time here and felt right at home. Janet's cottage is well appointed with a little extra compared to other Airbnbs we've stayed at. The cottage is situated on the banks of McKenzie Lake, it's pretty quiet compared to other lakes and has a nice sandy bottom with plenty of fish. Janet and Nelson, also have a canoe and paddle boat that you can use as well. If you have a boat, bring it along as the launch is just down the road and there are two docks available. Janet, herself is always easy to reach and very responsive; with helpers nearby, just in case. It was a great place to unwind and unplug for a week.

• This was the first time I had booked through Airbnb on my own, and I am happy I did it through Janet's property as my first experience. The communication leading up to the actual stay was clear and easy to follow. Once I got there, I was greeted the next morning by Janet's local contact, Jess, who was impeccable with responding to texts from needing extra garbage bags to learning more about the local pup that would come by to say hello. Janet was a fantastic host throughout the stay. She ended up coming up with her family to stay at a nearby family cottage and checked in to make sure we were comfortable and still had everything we needed. A family nearby was celebrating an event and she was proactive to let me know of the potential noise (which there was barely any). It was very thoughtful of her. The cottage was absolutely stunning, well-kept, clean, tidy, and it had everything we needed for the week. We loved it there and will definitely be back next summer!

• Janet and her husband are really lovely and helpful hosts! They even came to welcome us and showed us the house. We stayed for five nights, went hiking and canoeing in Algonquin Park, and saw some wildlife like moose, snapping turtles, and otters. We really enjoyed the lake access and went swimming each day. The spot for a bonfire is very nice and we were able to see lots of stars. I would definitely recommend staying at Janet's place. It is a lovely house and really comfy even with 10 people. Also, it's very well equipped. Thank you very much for the stay!
